Tremonton, UT – Randell Lamont Gardner, 53, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Randy was born September 18, 1954 in Brigham City, Utah, the son of Lamont Dewey and Mildred Claudia Florez Gardner. Randy grew up in Deweyville and Tremonton areas.
Randy married Darleen Burke June 10, 2000 in Tremonton, where they have lived since 2002. Randy and Darleen are each other's best friend and loved each other unconditionally. Where you saw one, the other was usually not far off.
Randy served his country in the Army from 1972-1974 and was honorably discharged. He was an expert marksman. Randy dearly loved his country and was devastated by 9-11.
Randy is survived by his loving wife, Darleen, two sons and one daughter: Randell Martin Gardner, Douglas, AZ, Malissa (Jason) Espinosa, Tremonton and Jonathan (Lacy) Gardner, Brigham City; two brothers, Silvian (Judy) Gardner, Salt Lake City and Ronnie (HelenMae) Gardner, Ogden, two grandsons and eight granddaughters as well as seven wonderful kids that adopted Randy as theirs and a sister, Cynthia (Sid) Miller, Tremonton. He is also survived by a large extended family as well as many, many friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Lamont, his mother, Mildred, and sister, Tonya Kelley.
Randy touched many lives and hearts. He and his wife chaired A. A. meetings in their home for the last five years. Randy celebrated his 10th year sober on January 15, 2008 and was clean of drugs for 8 ¾ years at the time of his death. Randy will be deeply missed by so many people but none more than his best friend, companion and soul-mate, his wife, Darleen.
My love, you are now with your mom, dad, my mom and dad, and son preparing for my arrival. But most of all you are with the one you love so much, Jesus. You are my heart, me breath, my life, I already miss you deeply and will always cherish our love, our life, our dreams.
A visitation will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 (noon) at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton. A memorial service will be held Wednesday February 6, 2008 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests donations be made to Members First Credit Union in his wife, Darleen Gardner's name.
